It was seen that users all around Turkey prefer warm and satisfying flavors in winter, while they prefer refreshing and light options in summer. Here are the delightful nutrition trends that warm you up in winter and cool you down in summer!

Warmth and flavor together on winter days

During the cold weather, the orders of users in Turkey focused on traditional and homemade flavors.

While Chicken Doner Kebab was the most preferred flavor in all regions, Burger ranked first in Marmara. Lahmacun, Pide and Çiğ Köfte also stood out among the most sought-after flavors in winter. The most striking winter trends are as follows:

Waffles & Desserts: Waffle orders increased by 54% and overall dessert consumption by 46%, making them the categories with the highest increase in winter. Waffles became the star of winter menus, especially on snowy days, matching the pleasure of a warm home environment.

Home Cooking One of the rising categories of the winter months was Home Cooking. Those looking for a motherly flavor increased their orders for home-cooked meals by 24%.

Soups and Hot Drinks: Soup orders, which are indispensable in winter, increased by 55%, while Hot Coffee and Chocolate increased by 195% and became the pleasant savior of cold days.

Refreshing flavors at their peak in summer

As the weather warmed up last year, Turkey’s food preferences became lighter. Here are the trends that stand out in the summer months:

Cold Coffee and Ice Cream: Cold Coffee orders increased by 234% compared to winter, making it the most popular product in summer. Ice cream consumption increased by 50%, meeting the need for a refreshing dessert.

Salads and Light Meals: Salad orders increased by 18% in summer. Especially in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, light and refreshing salads were preferred more in the summer months.

Even though the seasons change, the indispensables do not change

Some flavors remain popular all year round. Burgers and Pizza were among the most ordered products both in summer and winter. However, in addition to Burgers, orders for Soup and hot drinks in general increased in winter, and Cold Coffee and Ice Cream in summer. Çiğ Köfte and Döner also stood out as Turkey’s favorite flavors in both summer and winter.
