This special data announced by Yemeksepeti not only reveals the changes in pizza lovers’ preferences and interesting trends, but also provides important clues about pizza consumption habits in Turkey.

Yemeksepeti data also proves with figures that the passion for pizza in Turkey is increasing. There was a significant 12% increase in pizza orders in 2024 compared to 2023. This rise reinforces the fact that pizza is a preferred flavor at every meal and every moment.

Details such as the rise of chicken pizza, the increase in overnight orders and regional differences clearly reveal the dynamism in pizza consumption trends and the diversity in user preferences.

The number of hardcore pizza lovers is on the rise

In 2024, 17% of Yemeksepeti users ordered 5 or more pizzas per month on average. This rate shows that hardcore pizza consumers have a significant share in total pizza orders.

Yemeksepeti’s data for 2024 also revealed how ambitious hardcore pizza fans are. Throughout the year, one user ordered a total of 1,602 pizzas, a record that is hard to break. On a monthly basis, one user came out on top with 321 pizza orders. These records show that the passion for pizza knows no boundaries.

Chicken and pepperoni pizzas on the rise

The most remarkable rise among pizza varieties was realized by chicken pizza. In 2024, chicken pizza orders increased by a significant 53% compared to 2023. The rapid rise of chicken pizza may be an indication that interest in different flavors is also increasing. pepperoni pizza was the second most popular pizza type with a 30% increase, proving that classic flavors are still popular.

Increase in evening and night pizza orders

The data also reveals the peak hours of the day for pizza orders. The pizza order change between 18:00-20:00 shows an 11% increase. In addition, there is a remarkable 22% increase in pizza orders between 00:00-03:00 at night for Yemeksepeti users. This shows that pizza is preferred not only for lunch or dinner but also as a late-night snack.

Enjoying pizza is doubled on weekends and holidays

Yemeksepeti 2024 data shows that users spend more time enjoying pizza on weekends and holidays. On weekends, 17% more pizza orders are placed compared to weekdays. This reveals that pizza is a preferred flavor especially during times of rest and pleasure.

Cities with the highest increase in pizza orders

In 2024, there were remarkable changes in the ranking of cities with the highest increase in pizza orders compared to the previous year. Tunceli came out on top with an 89% increase, followed by Muş with 82%, Kars with 61%, Bilecik with 57% and Nevşehir with 52%. The rise in pizza orders in these cities shows that pizza is becoming increasingly popular across Turkey.

Medium pizza is the favorite, carbonated soft drinks are the classic accompaniment

Medium pizzas are by far ahead of other sizes. 62% of users prefer Medium pizzas, compared to 25% for Large pizzas. This shows that users both pay attention to portion control and want to try different varieties.

There was no surprising change in the most preferred beverage with pizza orders. 70% of users still prefer carbonated soft drinks with their pizza orders.

Yemeksepeti deals attract great interest

The deals offered by Yemeksepeti are also closely followed by pizza lovers. “Two medium size” deals were evaluated by 22% of users. Moreover, the fact that 13% of pizza orders are placed by users using Yemeksepeti’s popular Sepette campaigns reveals that discounts and campaigns affect preferences.

In terms of dough preference, thin crust continues to be the most popular option with 58%. The lightness and crunchiness of thin crust pizzas continue to be appreciated by users.

Mozzarella Cheese, Corn and Mushrooms share the top three places among the most preferred extra toppings in pizza orders. These classic extras continue to be indispensable for pizza lovers.

European pizza index champion Pizza Margarita

According to data collected from 6 European countries, Pizza Margarita continues to be the most preferred pizza both in Turkey and across Europe. The popularity of simple and classic flavors is reflected in consumer preferences in Europe.
