In the evaluation made by expert jury members from around the world, innovative HR practices and projects implemented under Yalgın’s leadership stood out.

Hande Yalgın, Vice President of People and Culture (CHRO) at Yemeksepeti, the leading brand of fast commerce in Turkey, was selected to Fast Company magazine’s prestigious “50 Most Innovative HR Leaders” list. In 2023, Yalgın drew attention with the “Leaders of the Basket” platform, where she managed the project to bring together senior and mid-level managers to offer trainings and development programs in areas such as inclusive leadership, effective communication and strategic thinking.

She drew attention with her successful HR projects

Led by Hande Yalgın, Yemeksepeti’s People and Culture team stood out with projects focusing on developing leadership culture, hybrid working models and effective communication strategies. Within the scope of these projects, the “Leaders of the Basket” platform, which was attended by approximately 90 managers, aimed to increase their leadership and communication skills. Yemeksepeti’s Leaders also took part in priority projects at the corporate scale. It also created an online learning and sharing platform where 93% of employees actively participated.

Employee engagement and communication scores increased

In line with the hybrid working model, communication and collaboration were strengthened through Slack and face-to-face meetings. Various workshops and sharing sessions were organized for employees on topics such as cultural transformation, effective listening, feedback and mentoring. In addition, many platforms were established to enable senior leaders to come together with employees more frequently and share information. As a result of these innovative practices, significant increases were observed in the engagement and communication scores of Yemeksepeti employees. There was also a significant improvement in strategic thinking skills.

The jury featured world-class names

The list of the 50 Most Innovative HR Leaders was determined by a jury of experts in their fields. Among the jury members, Bharath Jayaraman (Netflix), Chris Dyer (Author), Christa Gyori (Founder of Leaders On Purpose), Martin Roll (Management/Branding Consultant), Erich Joachimsthaler (CEO of Vivaldi Group) and Jeffrey Fox (Management Guru) stood out.
